Oct. 24, 2007, Delta,
BC – SEI Industries Ltd. is proud to announce the 25th anniversary of
the Bambi Bucket – the proven world standard in aerial firefighting.
The one-and-only Bambi Bucket has been the focal point of the company’s
quarter-century of firefighting innovation.

In 1982, Canadian inventor Don Arney had an idea for an aerial
firefighting device that would allow helicopter operators to get closer
to fires and deliver more accurate water and foam dumps.  He envisioned
a product that could be used to access virtually any water source,
including water tanks – enabling pilots to spend less time traveling to
and from bodies of water and more time attacking fires.

After extensive trials and testing, the Bambi Bucket – a semi-rigid
helicopter firefighting bucket constructed of ultra-durable flexible
fabric – was released.  Over time, a wide range of bucket sizes were
introduced to complement almost any helicopter.  The Bambi Bucket is
now available in capacities from 72USG to 2600USG, and three distinct
types: the original Bambi Bucket, the powerful multi-dump Torrentula
Bucket, and the new, lighter Aqualanche Bucket.

The Bambi Bucket was the first in what would become a complete
lineup of aerial firefighting products by SEI Industries.  Today, over
15 essential additions are available for the Bambi Bucket, including
computerized coverage control, rapid shallow-fill capability, and the
Sacksafoam™ series of foam injection systems.
