Aug. 27, 2009 – Latitude Technologies recently announced that Norway-based Airlift AS, an international dealer for Latitude, has successfully obtained EASA STC “EASA.R.S.01574” for the installation of Latitude Technologies’ SkyNode® S200 Satellite Communications Systems.  The STC covers installations in the Eurocopter EC 225, AS 332 and SA 330 series helicopters.

The original installation was on an AS 332 Super Puma used in extremely remote areas near and above the Arctic Circle where reliable communications and flight tracking are highly critical to aircraft logistics, SAR operations and safety.  The STC can be adapted to other helicopter types and will be available for sale by Airlift.  The SkyNode S200 can be installed by Airlift at their Bygstad, Norway facility or by any EASA Part 145 repair station worldwide.

“Testing of the system in a real world environment revealed that the SkyNode S200 had excellent voice audio quality and accurate position reporting information.  The S200 delivered exactly the results that we were looking for”, said Arild Ryland head of design for Airlift.

Mark Insley, Latitude’s president commented, “We are extremely pleased with Airlift AS for successfully completing this EASA STC and in a very short amount of time. This speaks volumes about their competence and the value they bring to the European aeronautical market.”
