February 10, 2011  By Carey Fredericks

Feb. 10, 2011, Vancouver - With the 2011 CHC Safety & Quality Summit only two months away, organizers have recognized the sponsors supporting the aviation safety conference aimed at improving safety in aviation globally.

A non-profit aviation safety conference held March 28-30, 2011 at the Westin Bayshore Resort & Marina in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, the CHC Safety & Quality Summit relies on the support of its sponsors to bring together the best minds in aviation safety to present and share best practices with delegates from around the globe.

“Our sponsors’ commitment to reducing risk in aviation is clear. The majority of our sponsors come back year after year,” said Greg Wyght, Vice President, Safety and Quality for CHC Helicopter. “To me, that is a testament to the value of the Summit and to the Sponsors’ dedication to aviation safety.”

Sponsors of the Summit include Sikorsky, AgustaWestland, Eurocopter, Willis, Chartis and Swiss Re as platinum sponsors, Bell Helicopter as a gold sponsor, Munich Re as a silver sponsor and SkyTrac, Panalpina, Alexander Holburn Beaudin & Lang LLP, Barlow Lyde & Gilbert LLP, Harper Grey LLP and Precision Heliparts Canada as bronze sponsors.

“AgustaWestland fully supports this initiative and therefore is a proud Platinum sponsor of the Summit,” said Emilio Dalmasso, Senior Vice President Commercial Business Unit, AgustaWestland. “We feel this is a valuable tool in promoting safety within the aviation sector and will be sending our dedicated department focused on the Oil and Gas industry to the Summit.”

“Safety has always been and will always be our number one priority,” said Dr. Lutz Bertling, President and CEO of Eurocopter Group. “Therefore, one of Eurocopter’s 2011 top ten objectives focuses on safety. Participating in CHC’s Safety & Quality Summit certainly will help us meet that objective.”

The CHC Safety and Quality Summit will feature approximately 70 sessions examining this year’s theme: Corporate Responsibility vs. Personal Accountability. An impressivearray of experts, including Tony Kern, Graham Braithwaite and John Nance, will be guest speakers at the Summit.

The Summit is hosted by CHC Helicopter, one of the world’s largest providers of civilian search and rescue services and transportation for the global offshore oil gas industry. CHC has over 250 aircraft operating in some 30 countries worldwide.
