Tradewind becomes an official Chopper Spotter dealer

February 22, 2016  By Tradewind International

Tradewind International is now an official dealer for Chopper Spotter, considered by many helicopter operators to be the best machine for safely moving light and medium helicopters on the ground. In production since 1989, the Chopper Spotter has become the industry standard for the being the safest in powered helicopter ground handling, and the best value for most ground handling needs.

“Chopper Spotter is a great fit with us; it’s an awesome addition to our offerings of aircraft parts and accessories, and it fits in very well with our many years of experience in the helicopter industry,” said Tradewind CEO Peter Bales. “I have used a Chopper Spotter for many years for moving my OH-6. It’s the best. I wouldn’t consider using anything else for moving my helicopter. With our large customer base, we hope to introduce Chopper Spotter to light and medium helicopter operators around the world who may not be familiar with this great product.”

The Chopper Spotter is available in three versions; the Model E, Model MS and Model 4. The Model E is powered by 2 batteries, provides good functionality, convenience, and great value for the ground movement of light helicopters. The Model MS is larger, has 2 additional batteries for internal power, and twice the lifting and moving capacity of the Model E. The 4 batteries and on-board auxiliary power receptacle make the Model MS a robust ground handler with the added convenience of a ground power unit. An optional power cable is available for APU starts. The Model 4 is identical to the Model MS with an extra set of lifting arms, and was developed to transport heavier light helicopters such as the MD902, BK117, EC135, EC145, and medium helicopters such as the Bell UH1, 205, 412.
