June 10, 2010  By Carey Fredericks

June 10, 2010, Portsmouth, UK - Vector Aerospace Corporation is pleased to announce it will host the 2010 International Sea King Maintenance Symposium in Portsmouth, United Kingdom from its Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services-UK (Fleetlands) facility from September 28th -30th.

To assist individuals and organizations interested in learning more about this important event, Vector’s organizing committee advises that details including registration and accommodations information can be viewed at www.seakingsymposium2010.com

This year’s Symposium includes presentations from leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), vendors and operators from both the military and commercial sectors, and is receiving significant interest from both participants and sponsors wishing to partake in the first International Sea King Maintenance Symposium to ever be held off North American soil. “When Vector hosted the 2008 Sea King Maintenance Symposium, we had just added the expertise of Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services-Fleetlands and Vector Aerospace Component Services-Almondbank,” says John MacDougall, senior vice-president of sales and marketing for Vector Aerospace. “These valuable additions to the Vector team rounded out the establishment of our Centers of Excellence in North America and the United Kingdom for both the Sikorsky and Agusta-Westland Sea King / S61 platforms, and greatly enhanced our ability to offer superior repair and overhaul services to military and commercial operators from around the globe."

MacDougall references Vector’s comprehensive portfolio of Sea King and S61 repair and overhaul capabilities including full repair and overhaul for engines and dynamic components (including in-house full load testing for all models of T-58 and CT-58 and main gearboxes). These support capabilities, combined with complete airframe overhauls (including shortening and lengthening), a 9,000-hour Major Inspection Program, complete airframe and system rewires and Vector’s revolutionary glass cockpit engineering, integration and installation programs ensure the long term future viability of the platform; and Vector’s position as the world leader in offering these essential repair and overhaul services to the international Sea King and S61 market.

Based on the participation of the industry’s most knowledgeable presenters, sponsors and delegates; MacDougall is confident the 2010 International Sea King Maintenance Symposium will once again be a major success, and encourages everyone involved with Sea King and S61 programs to partake in a truly world-class event, and to share their experiences and expertise.
