VIH Aerospace participates in Canadian trade delegation in Asia

February 3, 2016  By VIH Aerospace

VIH Aerospace will take part in a Canadian trade delegation to Asia February 7-20 as part of a contingent of leading aerospace companies operating in British Columbia.

The focus for the mission is to introduce Canadian and British Columbian aerospace companies to these evolving markets and create viable business opportunities for these companies to attract and expand their market share throughout these regions; with a goal of growing and ensuring the long-term viability and success of the British Columbian aerospace sector.

The itinerary for the mission includes high-level industry meetings with aerospace operators, manufacturers and other companies from designated target regions; beginning in Jakarta, Indonesia, followed by Manila Philippines, and concluding with participation at the 2016 Singapore Air Show; the region’s largest and most successful aerospace showcase.

“VIH Aerospace has been working to develop an increased presence and market capture of helicopter MMRO services, as well as provisioning of Supplemental Type Certified (STC) products for Bell, Sikorsky and Airbus products throughout the Asia Pacific region,’ explains Arne Arneson, General Manager of VIH Aerospace. ‘We believe that initiatives such as this one, under the leadership of the Province of British Columbia and the Canadian Trade Commission are instrumental in creating the global awareness and presence required to accomplish our objectives of increasing our market share within the Asia-Pacific region.’

“B.C.’s aerospace sector is a huge contributor to the B.C. economy, with more than 160 companies employing 8,000 British Columbians,” said B.C. Minister of International Trade Teresa Wat. “We are seeing a growing demand for B.C. aerospace products and services in the Asia Pacific Region with five business deals signed between Chinese and B.C. companies during Premier Christy Clark’s trade mission to China in the fall of 2015.  The B.C. government is proud to support VIH Aerospace and other B.C. aerospace companies on this delegation as they make valuable connections to develop even more business opportunities in this region.”
