Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Peter Wheatley has been with StandardAero for 17 years in a range of engineering and executive roles.

Peter Wheatley has been appointed Vice President and General Manager of StandardAero’s helicopters business unit, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In his new role, Wheatley will be responsible for managing StandardAero’s range of support services for the helicopter segment, including OEM-authorized engine maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO), airframe support, dynamic component repair (DCR), crash resistant fuel systems and avionics installations.

StandardAero explains its helicopters business unit is the world’s largest independent MRO provider that supports helicopter operators from locations in North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania.

Wheatley has 17 years of experience with StandardAero and moves to this new role from his former position as Director of Engineering for the Helicopters business unit, within StandardAero’s Components, Helicopters and Accessories (CH&A) division. He previously served as Director of Sales Operations for the company’s Airlines & Fleets division, prior to which he served in various production, engineering, quality and customer program roles within StandardAero.

Following the company’s acquisition of Vector Aerospace in 2017, Wheatley led the transition of StandardAero’s Rolls-Royce M250/RR300 engine lines to help establish the company’s Helicopter Engine MRO Center of Excellence.

“Wheatley represents the next generation of leaders for StandardAero,” said Rick Stine, President of the company’s Helicopters, Components & Accessories. “His leadership experience, energy, technical savvy and in-depth knowledge of the helicopter industry will serve our customers well. I’m confident he will successfully run our operations and continue his bright career at StandardAero.”
