March 5, 2012  By Carey Fredericks

March 5, 2012, Toronto - On Thursday March 8th, 2012 Women in Aerospace - Canada will be hosting a celebration for International Women's Day at the University of Toronto, Faculty Club.

The theme for this year's celebration is in keeping with the United Nation's International Women's Day theme for 2012 – Connecting
Girls, Inspiring Futures – ”If every International Women’s Day event
held in 2012 includes girls in some way, then thousands of minds will be
inspired globally.”
Attendees of this year's event are encouraged
to sponsor a female student, so that they can attend the event. WIA
Canada's goal is to inspire these young students by connecting them with
successful women who have made significant contributions to the
aerospace sector.

Attendees of WIA-Canada's celebration will enjoy afternoon tea, while
listening to a panel discussion moderated by Jacquie Perrin from CBC.
The panelists consist of some of Canada's brightest women in the
aerospace Industry, from companies Pratt & Whitney Canada Inc.,
Bombardier Aerospace, Honeywell Aerospace, MDA, Messier-Bugatti-Dowty
and Northstar Aerospace (Canada) Inc. They will provide insight into a
range of career options and the path they followed. Attendees are
encouraged to engage in discussion with the panelists and will
participate in their choice of round table discussion. The event will
commence with opening remarks from Deputy Minister, Wendy Tilford from
the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation. The goal of
this event is to inspire young women by demonstrating that it is
possible for women to be leaders in the aerospace Industry.
Please come and celebrate with us on March 8th, 2012 at the University of Toronto, Faculty Club!
