DART Aerospace received a new TCCA STC certification for the external cargo Heli-Utility-Basket, specifically tailored for the Bell 505 helicopter. The company, based out of Montreal, is also pursuing FAA validation.

The Bell 505 Heli-Utility-Basket becomes the latest in DART’s line of baskets, joining existing products for helicopter models such as the H125, Bell 407, R66, and AW119, as well as other models for helicopters manufactured by Airbus, Bell, Leonardo and Robinson.

The Bell 505 Heli-Utility-Basket features quick and easy installation, explains DART, allowing operators to externally carry skis, cargo hooks, tools and equipment, and a variety of other items safely. Developed for the utility and VIP market, the DART Heli-Utility-Basket is constructed of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, coated with a high-gloss, scratch-resistant white finish. DART explains safety with the product is enhanced with a simple self-locking handle that assures lid closure and secures cargo during flight. A gas spring is utilized to ease lid opening and closing.

During the testing phase, DART collaborated with the local service centre, G2 Aviation. DART notes it is committed to providing support for additional agency validations as per customer requirements.
