Dart announces Transport Canada approval of its Drive Shaft Tunnel for Bell 205A-1/205B

April 24, 2008 - DART Helicopter Services has announced that their affiliated partner, DART Aerospace Ltd., has received Transport Canada’s approval of their Drive Shaft Tunnel for 205A-1/205B Helicopters.

dartwebApril 24, 2008 – DART Helicopter Services has announced that their affiliated partner, DART Aerospace Ltd., has received Transport Canada’s approval of their Drive Shaft Tunnel for 205A-1/205B Helicopters.

The DART Drive Shaft Tunnel is larger at the forward end than the OEM assembly that it replaces, in order to accommodate the larger diameter tail rotor drive shafts now common on Bell 205’s.  The DART Drive Shaft Tunnel provides additional clearance around the tail rotor drive shaft at the forward firewall thereby reducing the chance of the drive shaft contacting the tunnel during operations.  DART’s Drive Shaft Tunnel features a removable center section below the starter that provides extra clearance for starter maintenance; additionally, this section can be replaced independently if necessary in the event of damage during routine maintenance rather than replacing the tunnel entirely.
