Robinson Helicopter Company named Sean Doyle as Vice President of Engineering, succeeding Pete Riedl who held the role for nearly two decades. Riedl spent close to 38 years with Robinson Helicopter, working closely with Frank Robinson and Kurt Robinson during his tenure, contributing significantly to various projects.

Notable achievements by Riedl include his collaboration with Frank Robinson on the design of the R44 helicopter and leading the design of the R66, as well as being involved in the development of the many options and improvements for all Robinson helicopter models. Riedl will continue to support Robinson in an advisory capacity.

“It has been a privilege working with our talented team of engineers, and all Robinson employees whose dedicated work has contributed to the success of our company. I am proud to be a part of the Robinson legacy,” said Riedl.

Sean Doyle was previously serving as Robinson’s engineering manager. A flight test professional with extensive experience in rotorcraft and system development, test, and certification, he previously served as a Flight Test Manager at Joby Aviation. Prior to Joby, he spent 15 years at Garmin, focusing on bringing new capabilities to the helicopter market, including flight control systems, hazard avoidance, navigation and displays.
