Eagle Copters Ltd. delivered its donated Bell 206B Jet Ranger helicopter to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. On July 12, 2023, the 206B aircraft was delivered to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology’s (SAIT) Art Smith Aero Centre for Training and Technology in Calgary, where it will serve as a training aid for the school’s aircraft maintenance courses.

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Technology program at SAIT equips students with the opportunity to work toward obtaining an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) “M” license. The program covers all sectors of aircraft maintenance, including general aviation, corporate, charter, transport category aircraft, and helicopters. The two-year diploma program is conducted at the Art Smith Aero Centre conveniently located at the Calgary International Airport.

Eagle Copters explains students at SAIT will have the opportunity to work on helicopters that provide many critical services including utility, aerial firefighting, HEMS, law enforcement, and charter flights. In addition to its Jet Ranger donation, the company explains it looks forward to future collaborations with SAIT.

“We are excited to partner with SAIT on future endeavours,” said Joshua Bonderoff, Planning Manager, Eagle Copters. “Donations like this will not only enhance the students’ training experience but also further strengthen the bond between Eagle Copters and SAIT.”
