Latitude awarded Canadian Forces contract

Oct. 26, 2010, Victoria, B.C. - Latitude Technologieshas been awarded the contract to supply up to 95 of its SkyNode S200 satellite communication systems for the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) CH-146 Griffon helicopter fleet.


The contract is the result of Latitude’s diligent work over the years to develop the most advanced and rugged satcom products and base station software commercially available.

SkyNode satcom systems are already field proven on Aerial fire attack, SAR, EMS and Law Enforcement tactical operations worldwide. Latitude will supply the Canadian Forces with a complete end-to-end secure voice and robust data communication solution that will be operational everywhere and under all conceivable environmental extremes ranging from -45˚ C to +70˚ C temperatures.
Besides its durability, Latitude’s SkyNode® equipment and the Sentinel™ software management system were chosen due to their built-in safety functions, small form factor, and amazing versatility including real-time flight monitoring, auto alerts, voice calling, multiplatform messaging, data distribution, and remote configurability. "The competition for this contract was international in scope and the technical and environmental requirements a challenge," stated Latitude president Mark Insley, continuing, "so I am proud to have Latitude selected to supply the Canadian Forces with our advanced flight logistics solution."
