Dec. 31, 2007, Galway Ireland/Dayton Ohio –  The Temperature Product Group of Measurement Specialties (MEAS), created by the combination of BetaTHERM Sensors, and formerly YSI Temperature, offers a large selection of standard thermistor components and probes. But where MEAS adds tremendous value and differentiates themselves from other temperature sensor providers is with their custom solutions expertise. Custom engineering is a core strength of this organization and dates back 50+ years.   This experience and breadth of knowledge allows meeting the unique demands and diverse requirements of the medical, aerospace, instrumentation, HVAC and telecommunication industries.

MEAS understands the complexity of the manufacturing process and has strong Regulatory/Quality experience to apply to medical and aerospace custom applications.    Here is example of projects recently engineered for customers:  000 Series thermistor built
Customer-specific Connectors: Fabricated MEAS 400 Series Patient Temperature probes with customer-specific connectors to meet instrument requirements. Modifications may range from color-coded backshells to shielded cables and custom connector systems.  MEAS
400 Series Temperature Probes have been an industry standard for decades.

Radio Frequency Interference (RFI): Specially designed a disposable probe to minimize susceptibility to RFI and EMI for a pediatric/neonatal application in order to meet CD/MDD requirements.

High Stability Probe: Specialized design of a glass encapsulated thermistor sensor in a stainless steel housing used in conjunction with the high accuracy 4610 thermometer system for field calibration of blood analyzing machines.

Dual Sensor Probe: Specifically designed with two sensors, one distal and one proximal, on an airway circuit for Respiratory Care, allowing measurement at both sites and providing feedback to a Servo-controlled heater.

Glass Heater Beads: These precise beads are used to measure flow in aerial refueling
booms in both US and European military aircraft

44900 Series Thermistors are used to monitor temperature in remove arm joints and remote cameras on the US Space Shuttle and International Space Station.  The Hubble, Chandra, Spitzer and James Web Telescopes all use these thermistors as well in a variety of applications requiring reliability and accuracy.

Measurement Specialties, Inc. designs and manufactures sensors and sensor-based systems.  The Company produces a wide variety of sensors and transducers to measure precise ranges of physical characteristics including pressure, temperature, position, force, vibration, humidity and photo optics.  Measurement Specialties uses multiple advanced technologies – including piezoresistive, electro-optic, electro-magnetic, capacitive, application specific integrated circuits (ASICs), micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), piezoelectric polymers and strain gages – to engineer sensors that operate precisely and cost effectively.      www.meas-spec.com or www.betatherm.com
