June 1, 2010 – The Titan XF, EAM Worldwide’s signature helicopter vest, has recently received some important functional and aesthetic upgrades to better meet the needs and preferences of its wearer. The new Titan XF vest now has extra heavy duty zippers for an even more durable and comfortable fit. EAM has also created a prototype of the helicopter vest in XL size for larger body types and the approval for manufacture is coming soon. Originally only available in a blue vest cover, EAM offers the additional choice of an orange-colored cover with the same flame-resistant nylon fabric. EAM is proud to report that the Titan XF life vest is FAA- and CASA-approved (Civil Aviation Safety Approved). In accordance with the Australia / USA Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA) and specific Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR), the FAA-approved Titan is considered approved for use on Australian registered aircraft.

In addition to the recently-upgraded vest, the Titan already has a large number of competitive advantages. The Titan is a more compact vest and it is easier to wear due to its deeper neck line. Designed with an equipment pouch and front pockets for greater storage capacity, the mesh material on the vest allows the crew to maneuver with greater ease and provides greater comfort. The vest cover is designed to protect the cell material and hardware components including the oral CO2 inflation tube and the Titan is also available with option D rings for easy ocean retrieval.

The Titan XF is a manually-activated, self-inflating life vest designed for continuous wear by passengers and crew aboard a helicopter during flights over water.  While in flight, the Titan is worn deflated and folded to a compact size to provide maximum comfort and mobility for the wearer. The dual-celled life vest, which is FAA-approved, has 35 pounds of buoyancy and is equipped with a pouch which can store a day/night flare, a signal mirror, a sea dye marker, PLBs, flashlights and personal items.
Designed for easy refold, the rearm and regular inspection of the Titan XF vest can be done by flight crews without sending the unit to a repair station. Formal maintenance inspections by our professional repair station are still highly recommended every 24 months.
