June 18, 2013, Le Bourget, Fra. - Donaldson Aerospace & Defense has been selected by Marenco Swisshelicopter Ltd. to provide the fuel filtration system for its new, advanced-technology SKYe SH09 helicopter.

The SKYe SH09 is an example of the next generation of light, single-engine helicopters and is designed to perform missions, including medical evacuation and other critical tasks, under the most extreme temperature and altitude conditions. The 5,500-pound (2.5-metric-ton), eight-seat helicopter incorporates an all-composite fuselage; a bearing-free, five-bladed rotor system; a SAGEM glass cockpit, and the newest electronically controlled, 1021-shaft-horsepower (760-kilowatt) turbine engine – the Honeywell HTS900-2. A product of Donaldson’s advanced filtration expertise, the fuel filtration system will protect that engine’s performance.

“Donaldson has long been committed to developing and applying the most advanced filtration technology for the protection of helicopter crews and passengers under the toughest conditions in the world,” said Pierre Habran, Director Aerospace & Defense at Donaldson Europe. “We are proud to share that commitment with Marenco and to support them in this exciting new project.”
