Manitoba MPs discuss military procurement

"Canada's aerospace industry contributes significantly to Canada's GDP.
That's why it is so important to support the Canadian industry and hear
directly from business owners of their experiences in dealing with
government," Finley said.

Six months after the launch of the DPS, the aerospace industry
provided their feedback on the strategy's three main objectives: to
deliver the right equipment to the Canadian Armed Forces and the
Canadian Coast Guard in a timely manner; to leverage purchases of
defence equipment to create jobs and economic growth in Canada; and to
streamline the defence procurement processes.

"Canada's new Defence Procurement
Strategy is the largest fundamental transformation in procurement in
the past 30 years, and it is critical that industry remain engaged in
helping us implement its elements and also improve," Finley said.

Finley and Bateman were joined by the
following companies: Boeing Canada, Cadorath Uniflyte Ltd.,The
Composites Innovation Centre, Cormer Aerospace, Custom Steel
Manufacturing Ltd., EMTEQ, EnviroTREC, Executive Aviation Services,
