April 16, 2020  By Helicopters Staff

Spidertracks has been named as a finalist in the category of Company of the Year for the 2020 New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards. The other Company of the Year finalists include ezyVet, Crimson Education, Fingermark, Harmoney and Serko.

“It’s a great time to be at Spidertracks helping customers save lives through the use of cutting-edge tech,” said Sean Tindale, CTO, Spidertracks. “We are delighted that our team has been acknowledged for their hard work towards our IoT and data safety solutions and they are just getting started, so we can’t wait to see what they achieve next.”

Winners are tentatively planned to be announced on May 22 during a gala dinner, but the event might be delayed based on the COVID-19 pandemic. The panel of local and international judges are meeting virtually to determine the winners.

Spidertracks introduced its new Spider X at Heli-Expo 2020 in Anaheim, California, this past January. Designed in-house from its predecessor technology, Spider X introduces an Altitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS), providing data that is transmitted wirelessly to access information about an aircraft’s orientation and position.

Spidertracks explains AHRS – expanding on the power of Virtual FDR – provides the most precise picture yet of an aircraft’s flight path and movements. The new hardware also features Wi-Fi, Cellular, Bluetooth, USB-C, and serial port interface capabilities.
