May 26, 2009 – Improved service, enhanced response times – all benefits that SpecTech France (part of the global STAG Group) expect to see from their recent commitment to a new stocking/service facility in the Toulouse area. Closeness to one’s customers is paramount in difficult times and so this investment is seen as a vital step to maintain current growth.

Chris Osborne, Directeur des Operations, explains “We have developed support management systems including what we believe is the first aerospace stock application of RFID and we have wonderful relationships with premier suppliers to the industry. This has led to a much greater requirement from all our customers so we recognised that a Toulouse base would help us to take the next step in improving our logistical control and customer communications.”

The STAG Group system manages the provision of a complete range of associated component manufacturers including: relays from Deutsch, Eaton/Cutler Hammer, Hartman, Leach, LRE and Teledyne, also connectors from AMP, Deutsch, ITT Cannon Tri-star and Souriau as well as heatshrink from Hellerman Tyton and switches from Arrow Hart, Eaton/Cutler Hammer and Texas Instruments, together with tools from Apex, Daniels and Glenair.

STAG are recognised distributors of aerospace parts for leading manufacturers, which include BAE Systems, Westland Helicopters, Bearing manufacturers Barden, Timken (Nadella, Fafnir, Kilan, Torrington). The group counts the UK Ministry of Defence as well as most of the major NATO forces as part of its customer base.

The new RFID system enhances an already sophisticated repair and warranty management service, covering everything from small rotables through to complete engines where all items being sent for repair and overhaul, or which need to be returned to the manufacturer under a warranty agreement, are managed from receipt through to delivery back to the end use customer and with the relevant documentation completed.
