Talon president awarded search and rescue honour

Nov. 4, 2010 – Talon Helicopters President and Operations Manager, Peter Murray, received the 2010 Leadership Award of the National Search and Rescue Awards of Excellence Program. The prestigious award, presented by Lt. Gen. W. Semianiw of Canada Command on Sept. 27, 2010 in Montreal, Quebec, recognizes exemplary service, commitment and dedication to search and rescue services across the country.

Having performed several Class D missions over the last 20 years, Murray is an expert in longline rescues, accident and incident free.

Talon Helicopters has been involved in several flight hours of training and working with search and rescue operations in the Greater Vancouver area, including teams from Lions Bay, Chilliwack, Coquitlam, Ridge Meadows, Squamish, Whistler and North Shore Search and Rescue, who nominated Murray for the award.
