August 7, 2013  By Carey Fredericks

Aug. 7, 2013, Gosport, U.K. - Vector Aerospace U.K. recently announced that its facility in Gosport, U.K. has just completed its 400th major aircraft refinish project.

The facility, which has four large paint and strip bays capable of taking aircraft as large as the Chinook, has carried out major surface refinish on a number of different rotary wing platforms since 2008 when it acquired the DARA site from the Ministry of Defence.  Aircraft such as the Chinook, Sea King, Lynx, Merlin, Puma and Gazelle have all benefited from Vector Aerospace’s commitment and MRO capabilities. Together with its airframe work, the team at Fleetlands also works on an extensive range of engine accessories and Quick Exchange Nacelles.

Head of Technical Services at Fleetlands, Dave Ford, commented, “This is another terrific milestone in the history of our refinish/paint facility. It shows how well our team has adapted to the ever changing requirements in today’s aerospace environment. Being flexible in meeting our customers' expectations has always been our goal and this throughput of aircraft shows just how well this is being done. We continue to work with customers, long established and new, delivering a service that all involved are proud of.”
