July 23, 2010, Kelowna, B.C. - SkyTrac Systems is pleased to announce that it has been chosen by VIH Helicopters Ltd (formerly Vancouver Island Helicopters) to provide its next generation flight following and SatCom solutions. VIH Helicopters will equip its diverse fleet of Sikorsky, Kamov, Eurocopter, and Bell helicopters with SkyTrac’s next generation ISAT-200 system.

SkyTrac Systems will provide VIH Helicopters with more than the standard voice, text, and data. Facilitated by its in house software and hardware engineering capabilities, SkyTrac Systems will work with VIH to develop a solution to enable VIH to transport daily aircraft data logs over the Iridium satellite network. Pilots will complete flight logs at the end of each day which will then be automatically transmitted via satellite from the helicopter to VIH head office in Victoria, BC.

Corey Taylor, Operations Manager at VIH Helicopters, said “we chose SkyTrac to provide flight following and SatCom because of the company’s focus on innovation, system reliability, and custom integration capabilities. We conducted a thorough analysis of vendors in this industry, and SkyTrac came out on top.”

Steve Fuhr, Vice President and Director of Business Development commented: “SkyTrac Systems is proud to be associated with VIH. We are driven to provide innovative and value added solutions to our customers and are pleased to provide VIH with a custom integration that will greatly enhance the efficiency of its day to day operations.”
