Lockheed Martin closing in on Sikorsky deal

The American defence giant Lockheed Martin is closing in on a takeover of the maker of Black Hawk helicopters.
It is believed to be close to a deal worth more than $8bn to buy Sikorsky from its fellow American aerospace behemoth United Technologies Corporation.
UTC put Sikorsky, the maker of the Marine One US presidential helicopter, on the block in March when it said it would sell or spin off the company. That attracted interest from rivals including Airbus, Boeing and Textron, but Lockheed is now regarded as firm favourite. | READ MORE
