Transwest Helicopters’ Bell Medium Vertical Reference Doors have been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration for the Bell 205A-1, 212, 214B/B1 and 412, 412EP, 412CF aircraft. The products were previously approved by Transport Canada.

Transwest explains the LH/RH Vertical Reference Doors, along with the previously approved LH/RH Seat Cushion Modification, improves pilot comfort while completing VR missions and crew training.

Transwest Vertical Reference Doors allow the pilot to move further outward, explains Transwest, improving visibility with the deep blown window, and improving the line-of-sight view for external loads.

“Our goal was to develop products so a pilot could comfortably perform Vertical Reference missions and not feel broken at the end of their day. With the LH VR Door and the LH Seat Frame, and Cushion Modification, we have provided a more ergonomic position that makes flying these missions more comfortable and less exhausting with reduced vibration,” said Doug Maki, Director of Maintenance at Transwest Helicopters. “Many pilots have struggled for years. We are excited to provide solutions to improve the Bell Medium Pilots comfort in the USA.”
