DART receives EASA certification for Bell 505 skidtubes

November 20, 2019  By Helicopters Staff

DART Aerospace recently received EASA validation of its Bell 505 standard and float skidtubes, alongside its existing TCCA, FAA and Mexican DGAC approvals for the product. The company explains these skidtubes complement the Bell 505 Emergency Float System, which was launched close to two years ago.

EASA in January 2019 certified this Emergency Float System (EFS), designed exclusively for the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X. STC approvals for DART’s EFS were granted by FAA, TCCA, and JCAB in 2018. The six-pod EFS is available as a factory installation or retrofit option.

Constructed with patented I-Beam technology and shipped standard in a glossy black coating, the DART 505 float skidtubes come with standard tungsten carbide-welded wearplates. DART states, that based on the central I-Beam web, these skidtubes are 10 times more resistant to crushing than competing products. Its skids are also compatible with OEM crosstubes.
